Hello Southern Virginia...

Finally an update! Service is obsolete in southern VA :/.  We are roughly 100 miles into our journey and so far so good. Our bodies are acclimating once again to the aches and pains. We have been taking ChlorOxygen by Herbs Etc. and it is truly helping me with the uphills, I feel I am breathing better. Southern Virginia is beautiful and the Grayson Highlands were absolutely amazing! The wildlife is abundant here as well, numerous deer, 3 bears and a skunk! Bailey helps as a wonderful deterrent :) I have tons of pictures to upload from my camera but I have to wait until I will can get on a computer. Until then...:)

Well, we are finally heading north again......leaving my Mom's now and then driving through the panhandle to visit with Nick's family :).  We got our boxes all wrapped up and spent yesterday seam-sealing and Permethrin coating. Beyond ready to get on trail....

Bacon and Eggs....and Calcium

With the meat nearly done for Bailey's food, I started on the calcium portion for her....egg shells. I have 8 trays in my dehydrator and that perfectly holds 2 1/2 dozen of scrambled eggs liquid, which I will dehydrate and then grind into a powder.  The shells will spend about 20 minutes in the oven to get crisp and then I will grind them into a powder and add that to Bailey's food to provide her with the much needed calcium for her diet.

On the up-side of the veeeerrrryyyy long process, we now have the luxury of (pre-cooked) bacon and (dehydrated) eggs for breakfast, YUM!  I wanted to add this to our menu last year but I  simply did not have the time (or dehydrator space) to attempt it.
