Seems like I have done this before....?

Phase One, the purging of the boxes begins
I got to my Mom's a couple of days ago and yesterday I finally made my way over to our storage unit, to reorganize our drop boxes. Wow...deja vu! I am pretty sure I have done this all before!  First, I had to set out all the boxes, open them one by one begin the sorting.  In the end I sorted them by Bailey's items, dinners, breakfast, snacks, drinks and instant potatoes (Nick's favorite....., not)!
Phase 2, that is one big stack of food!
Phase 3, organized by category and type
I removed all of the items that we didn't need, those V8's and sardines are great, but way too heavy to ship (live and learn), I actually found a small wheel of Gouda in one of the boxes too....lol.  I then removed all of the TP. Since we are downsizing our boxes, we will just pick this up in town, it is a pretty easy find.

I also removed all of Bailey's kibble and have reverted to making her food. A task, yes, but completely worth it and I have 2 whole weeks to focus on her meals completely.  It will not only provide her with healthier food, but it will also lighten her load tremendously.  My mother was gracious enough to let me help her clean out her cabinets and donated tons of items for our hike :)
and my niece has outgrown baby rice and they just so happened to have a ton of it...yup, the instant idea for lightweight Bailey food was born. I still have quite a bit of dehydrated veggies, so I grabbed the dehydrator from storage and off to the market we went for beef and chicken!  I will probably finish the meat and then dehydrate some more peas, then add some oats, mix it all together and BAM! Lightweight Bailey grub. As for her treating needs....Whole Life Pet Products  Where they believe "Simple is Best", are extremely lightweight and they are single ingredient treats -MEAT! and  what dog does not like that? Also, Zuke's will be supporting her treat needs along the trail with their Power Bars, they are basically all natural energy bars for dogs.Today I am working on my new mailing labels and waiting on the smaller boxes I ordered from the post office. (P.S.., it is kinda fun trying to play, "Where's Bailey" in the pictures)
And we are done for now, take a bow Bailey!
